Allama Ibn Aabideen Shaami Alaihir Rahmah writes: "Gathering to listen to the Meelaad Shareef of the Messenger of Allah is among the noblest acts of worship, for in these gatherings abundant salutations and blessings are sent upon the Messenger of Allah, and the remembrance of Allah Almighty and His Beloved is repeatedly made. Indeed, cherishing the remembrance of the Holy Prophet is itself a means of attaining closeness to Him." (Sharh Saheeh Muslim, Volume 3, page 183)
