Answer: During prostration, it is waajib (compulsory) to place the nose on the ground and press it until the bone makes contact. If a person prostrates in such a way that the nose does not touch the ground at all, or only the tip touches without the bone being pressed down, then the Salaah becomes Makrooh-e- Tahreemi (prohibitively disliked) and must be repeated. It is mentioned in Noorul-Idaah with Maraaqil-Falaah:Translation: Placing the firm bone of the nose on the ground along with the forehead during prostration is waajib (compulsory), as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ maintained this practice with consistency.(Noorul-Idaah ma‘a MaraaqilFalaah, Chapter: On the Waajibaat of Salaah, Page 139, Maktabaul-Madinah) Translation: Hazrat Abu Huraira Radiallahu Anhu reported that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: The best Suhoor for a believer is dates. (Sunan Abu Dawood) It is stated in Fataawa Razviyyah Shareef: “Placing the bone of the nose on the ground is Waajib. Many people fail to do so properly; at most, only the tip of the nose touches the ground. Abandoning this waajib is sinful, and habitual negligence in this matter amounts to fisq (open sinfulness).” (Fataawa Razviyyah Shareef, Volume 3, Page 253, Raza Foundation, Lahore)

Regarding the repetition of the Salaah in this case, Fataawa Amjadiyyah states: “In prostration, it is Fard (obligatory) that the forehead rests firmly on the ground, and it is Waajib to press the nose in such a manner that, after the soft part is pressed, the bone also touches the ground. If only the tip touches without the bone, then the Salaah must be repeated.” (Fataawa Amjadiyyah, Volume 1, Page 84, Maktabah Razviyyah, Karachi)

Similarly, in Bahaar-e-Shariat, it is mentioned: “If the forehead is not firmly pressed on the ground, the Salaah is invalid. And if the nose is not pressed to the extent that the bone touches the ground, the Salaah is Makrooh-eTahreemi and must be repeated.” (Bahaar-e-Shariat, Part 3, Page 68, Qadiri Kitab Ghar, Bareilly Shareef) And Allah Almighty Knows Best.

Question: Is it necessary to have an authentic chain of transmission (Sanad) for a strand of the Blessed Hair of the Holy Prophet ﷺ?

Answer: It is sufficient that the Blessed Hair is widely recognized as being attributed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It is not a condition that it must be supported by a documented chain of transmission or conclusive proof.

In Fataawa Razwiyyah Shareef it is stated:

For the sacred relics and blessed Aathaar of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, there is no requirement for a chain of transmission. Rather, any item that is well-known by the noble name of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, showing reverence towards it is among the symbols of Deen.

In Shifa Shareef, Mawaahibul-Ladunniyyah, and Madaarij Shareef, it is mentioned:

"Among the aspects of honoring the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is to honor everything associated with him ﷺ whatever he ﷺ touched, and whatever became renowned through his ﷺ blessed name."

(1) Hazrat Anas bin Malik RadiAllahu Anhu narrates that the Holy Prophet said: "Allah Almighty is indeed pleased with His servant when, after eating, he praises Allah Almighty, and when, after drinking, he praises Allah Almighty." (Muslim Shareef)

(2) Hazrat Jaabir bin Abdullah RadiAllahu Anhu reports that the Holy Prophet said: "The most excellent remembrance is Laa ilaaha illallah, and the most excellent supplication is Alhamdulillah." (Sunan Ibn Maajah)

(3) Hazrat Anas bin Malik RadiAllahu Anhu narrates that the Beloved Prophet said: "When Allah Almighty grants a blessing to His servant, and the servant responds by saying Alhamdulillah, then this praise is more virtuous in the sight of Allah Almighty than the blessing itself." (Sunan Ibn Maajah)

In short, develop the habit of saying "Alhamdulillah" in every situation after eating, drinking, upon receiving blessings, and even during times of hardship. This simple yet powerful practice turns ordinary moments into acts of worship and becomes a means of attaining Allah's pleasure.

Supplication Has A Special Power To Prevent Hardships And Troubles

Supplication has a special power to prevent hardships and troubles. When a person fears that a difficulty is about to come, and Allah Almighty gives him the ability to turn to Him in supplication, that very supplication becomes the reason the hardship is removed and the person is saved from it.

The Hadith Shareef mentions:

الدُّعَاءُ مِفْتَاحُ الرَّحْمَةِ، وَالْوُضُوءُ مِفْتَاحُ الصَّلَاةِ، وَالصَّلَاةُ مِفْتَاحُ الْجَنَّةِ

"Supplication is the key to Allah's mercy, ablution is the key to Salaah and Salaah is the key to Paradise"-(Jaamius-Sagheer).

These three actions are very important in a true believer's life.

Regularly practicing them brings Allah's mercy, closeness to Him, and, in the end, entry into Paradise.
