The Blessed Month of Dhul Hijjah - PART 2‏

الصلوۃ والسلام علیک یا سیدی یارسول اللہ

As-Salamu'Alaykum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatuh,

Abu Hurairah (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) relates that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "There are no days more loved to Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) for you to worship Him therein than the ten days of Dhul Hijja. Fasting any day during it is equivalent to fasting one year and to offer Salatul Tahajjud (late-night prayer) during one of its nights is like performing the late night prayer on the night of power. [i.e., Lailatul Qadr]."
[This is related by at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and al-Baihaqi]

Ibn' Umar (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) narrated that at Mina, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Do you know what is the day today?" The people replied, "Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) and His Messenger (ﷺ) know it better." He said, "It is the Sacred day. And do you know what town is this?" They replied, "Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) and His Messenger (ﷺ) know it better." He said, "This is the forbidden (sacred) town (Mecca). And do you know which month is this?" The people replied, "Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) and His Apostle (ﷺ) know it better." He said, "This is the Sacred month." The Messenger (ﷺ) added, "No doubt, Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) made your blood, your properties, and your honor sacred to one another like the sanctity of this day of yours in this month of yours in this town of yours."

Narrated Ibn' Umar (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu): On the Day of Nahr (10th of Dhul-Hijja), the Messenger (ﷺ) stood in between the Jamrat (Stoning the Devil) during his Hajj which he performed, and said, "This is the greatest Day (i.e. 10th of Dhul-Hijjah)." The Messenger (ﷺ) started saying repeatedly, "O Allah (سبحانه و تعالى)! Be Witness (I have conveyed Your Message)." He then bade the people farewell. The people said, "(This is Hajjat-al-Wada)."
[Bukhari 2.798]

As-Salamu'Alaykum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatuh,

We will soon be welcoming the Blessed Month of Dhul Hijjah, InshaAllah Ta'ala. I've decided to take this opportunity to share the blessings of the month.

Praise be to Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) Who has created Time and has made some times better than others, some months and days and nights better than others, when rewards are multiplied many times, as a mercy towards His slaves. This encourages them to do more righteous deeds and makes them more eager to worship Him, so that the Muslim renews his efforts to gain a greater share of reward, prepare himself for death and supply himself in readiness for the Day of Judgement.

This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to correct ones faults and make up for any shortcomings or anything that one might have missed. Every one of these special occasions involves some kind of worship through which the slaves may draw closer to Allah (سبحانه و تعالى), and some kind of blessing through which Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) bestows His favour and mercy upon whomsoever He will. The happy person is the one who makes the most of these special months, days and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship; he will most likely be touched by the blessing of Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) and will feel the joy of knowing that he is safe from the flames of Hell.

Ibn' Abbas says about the Aayah of the Holy Qura'n, "Remember Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) during the well known days," that it refers to the first ten (10) days of Dhul-Hijjah. [This is related by al-Bukhari]

When to Stand during the Iqamah? (PART 2)‏

From the Hadith, the Fuqaha have derived that one should stand after Iqamah has finished saying Ash Hadu-Ana Muhammad Ar Rasul Allah, so that Sunnah of Sahaba is followed. Here is what Fuqaha had to say:

Imam Badr ud-din Ayni (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said: Imam Abu Hanifa (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) and Imam Muhammad (Radhi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) said:

When Muadhin says
“Hayya al as-salah” at that point the people should stand up in their rows …and if Imam is not in Masjid then people should not stand until they have seen him

In Fatawa al Alamgiri the famous Hanafi manual of Fiqh, it is stated: When the Muadhin says “Hayya al as-Salah” then people and Imam should stand up, this is the correct way “
ACCORDING TO THREE IMAMS (HANAFI, SHAFI’I AND HANBLI)”

=> Conclusion: We should remain seated until we are done with hearing the blessed name of Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon him)

When to Stand during the Iqamah? (PART 1)

♥ As-Salamu'Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. ♥

There is some dispute over the issue of remaining seated while Iqamah is going on but to stand up upon hearing "Hayya al-as Salah".

Some people look down upon staunch followers of Sunnah and even call them Ahlul Bidah for remaining seated. Mostly the ignoramus people from Deobandi and Wahabi schools are found ridiculing this act of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah and they are found standing up quickly right at the beginning of Iqamah us-Salaat including their Imams.

Now let us understand this issue in light of Sahih ahadith and stance of Ahnaaf which the deobandi wahabi also claim to follow.

♥ A Hadith in Sahih Bukhari states:

قال رسولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلّم: «إِذا أُقِيمَتِ الصلاةُ فلا تقوموا حتى ترَوني».

Translation: The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said:
When the Iqamah of prayer is being said, then DO NOT STAND UNTIL YOU SEE ME.
