Meelaad Shareef In The Thought Of Imam Suyuti

While discussing the subject of Meelaad Shareef, Hazrat Allamah Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti Alaihir Rahmah writes:

فَيُسْتَحَبُّ لَنَا أَيْضًا إِظْهَارُ الشُّكْرِ بِمَوْلِدِهِ بالاجْتِمَاعِ وَإِطْعَامِ الطَّعَامِ وَنَحْوِ ذَلِكَ مِنْ وُجُوهِ القُرُبَاتِ وَإِظْهَارِ الْمَسَرَّاتِ

Translation: It is recommended for us to

express gratitude for the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet by gathering together, feeding others, and through similar acts of devotion, as well as by manifesting joy and happiness. (Alhaawi Lilfataawa Page 196)
