Cured Because Of His Devotedness!

An Abyssinian [Habashi] slave who loved Hadrat Ali (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) committed a theft. He was brought to Hadrat Ali (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu). Hadrat Ali (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) asked him: Did you steal? He said: Yes. Hadrat Ali (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) ordered that his hand should be cut. When that person returned from Hadrat Ali (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu), he met Hadrat Salman Farisi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) and Ibnul Kara. Ibnul Kara asked him: Who cut your hand? He said: The Commander of the Faithful, the great leader of the Muslims, the son-in-law of the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam), the husband of Hadrat Fatima (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anha). He asked him: Hadrat Ali (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) cut off your hand and you are praising him? He said: Why should I not praise him? He has cut off my hand as justice and has released me from the fire of hell.

When Hadrat Salman Farisi (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) heard this, he conveyed this to Hadrat Ali (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu). Hadrat Ali (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) summoned that Abyssinian slave and placed his blessed hand on his arm and covered it with a kerchief and recited some prayers. The narrator says: Suddenly, we heard a voice from sky: Remove the cloth from the hand. Lo and behold! By the will of Allah Ta'ala and because of his devotedness, he was cured.
