Fourteen Close Friends

Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم said:

"Every Prophet was granted with seven close friends and I have been granted with fourteen."

We said: "Who are they?"

Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib radi Allahu anhu replied:

"Me, my sons (Hasan and Hussain), Ja'far, Abu Bakr, Umar, Mus'ab ibn Umayr, Bilaal, Salmaan, Ammaar, Miqdaar, Hudhayfa and Abdullah ibn Mas'ood"

Radi Allahu anhum ajma'een.

Imam Tirmidhi said: "This Hadith is Hasan (good)
