The True Sincerity

Mawlana Marghoob Hasan Qadiri Idrawi narrates:

Twenty-five years have passed since the Spiritual mentor of the Truth, the Crown of Ahl e Sunnah, Huzur Mufti e A'zam (May Allah Ta'ala shower his Mercy upon him) had left this world; but it feels as if he is with us all along. We are able to feel his presence but we cannot see him. In our imagination, we are able to visualize the city of Bareilly Sharif....his abode....his courtyard....his office of the Sacred law, yet; we are unable to see him even though his spiritual presence has flowered our deserted hearts and gushed our ruined minds with the blossom of spiritual fountain. Why should not he be in control of our imagination when his illuminated face is etched upon our eyes?

The caring nature for the poor and the devastated group is an inherent quality of excellence within the family of AlaHadrat. This is the reason for the presence of so many poor souls who flock to his mausoleum for solace. In the time of Hadrat's (Mufti-e-A'zam) physical life, this was an everyday reality. If Hadrat traveled to some village or some town then he would ask the circumstances of those people. If anyone had to profess his heart rending adversity in the presence of Huzur Mufti-e-Azam, then he would personally take out something from his pocket to relieve him.

Two years ago when I was in a bus travelling from Bareilly sharif to Pilibhit Sharif for the Urs celebrations of Mawlana Hashmat Ali Khan Sahab (May Allah Ta'ala have mercy on him). It was by coincidence that I met my old friend, Dr Asad Amkhayrwi in the same bus. He narrated to me that there is a small village nearby in which a certain disciple of Huzur Mufti-e-Azam resided and he was very poor. For his daughter's wedding, this disciple very humbly, sent an invitation to Huzur Mufti-e-Azam. Hadrat accepted the invitation and reached that place. But the route which was taken by Hazrat was a very difficult one because there are no roads in or from the village. Hazrat had to sit in the cow-cart for the journey to that specific village in the middle of the Indian summer heat climate. Thereafter, Hadrat had to walk for two kilometers in the sweltering heat to reach the village; but Hadrat suffered these things with patience and perseverance. Nowadays, people have their own vehicles but they still do not fulfill their promise. Hadrat reached the village and after the Nikaah, the return journey was exactly in the same manner. When Hadrat climbed onto the cow-cart, that disciple who invited him intended to present something to Hadrat out of courtesy. Hadrat did not accept it, rather he took out something from the pocket of his waistcoat and issued some money to the disciple and said: "Spend this on my behalf for your daughter".

Look at the sincerity of this action. Who would not sacrifice himself by experiencing this level of honesty and sincerity from Huzur Mufti e Azam? Which eye will not moisten itself with tears after reading this episode?

This episode, in fact, is parallel to an episode which took place in the time of Hudur Ghawth-e-A'zam Shaykh Abd-Al Qaadir Jilaani (Allah Ta'ala sanctify his secret). A very poverty-stricken disciple once invited Ghawth e Azam for the nikaah of his daughter. Thereafter, this disciple thought that perhaps Ghawth e Azam may not come to my poor residence, but people saw, that Hudur Ghawth e Azam reached his disciple's place in time. That disciple became worried about organising things for boarding and lodging, but observe the power of Ghawth e A'zam that the disciple need not do any errands or organise things; rather, everything was done in time. For the whole week, that disciple did not have to worry about food or drink because through the blessings of Ghawth e Azam everything sufficed. After one week, when Ghawth e A'zam started leaving, the very same disciple who was worried about organising things requested Hadrat to stay more days because he now knew, that let alone weeks, rather years and years can pass but everything will suffice through the blessings and presence of Hazrat Ghawth e A'zam!

Huzur Mufti-e-A'zam was the reflection and manifestation of Huzur Ghawth-e-A'zam!

(Jahaan e Mufti-e-A'zam, pg 315)

"Kisi ko kyu sunaaou daastaa apne masaaib ki,
Mere dukh ki dawaa Tum ho, mere Mushkil Kusha Tum ho"

(Why should I narrate the story of my calamities to anyone?,
The cure of my sadness is You, the repeller of my affliction is You)
-Mawlana Shaykh Rayhaan Rida Khan alayhir rahmah
