Muharram Special - Part 4

LOVE FOR IMAM HUSSAIN:

The Beloved Rasool صلى الله عليه و سلم loved Hazrat Imam Hussain dearly, due to his piety and pure heart. Rasulullah صلى الله عليه و سلم loved his grandson dearly. Hazrat Umar Farouk Radi Allahu Anhu said: " once, when I presented myself in the court of Rasulullah صلى الله عليه و سلم , I saw that the beloved صلى الله عليه و سلم was walking on his knees carrying Imam Hussain Radi Allah Anhu on his blessed back. When I saw this, I said, your mode of transport is most splendid. On hearing this, the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم replied; " O Umar! The passenger is also very splendid." SubhaanAllah!

Ya’la bin Marwaa Radi Allahu Anhu reports that the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم  said, “Hussain is from me and I am from Hussain. Whosoever has kept Hussain as his beloved, Allah is his beloved. Hussain is a grandchild from amongst grandchildren.” [Mishkaat Shareef]

Hazrat Jaabir Ibn Abdullah Radi Allahu states, “I heard from the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم ‘Whomsoever wishes to see the leader of Paradise, he should look at Hussain ibn Ali Radi Allahu Anhu.’”

The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم was also aware, that the time would come, when his beloved grandson would save the Ummah from destruction at the hands of a corrupt and tyrant leader. He knew that Imam Hussain Radi Allahu Anhu will uphold the flag of Islam and that he will steer the great ship of Islam clear from the storm of fitna.

Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattaab - PT 1 (Kiswahili)

Assalaamu alaikum,

Natumai hamjambo.

AYA:  MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH, WALLADHINA MA-AHU ASHIDDAA-U ALAL KUFFAARI, RUHAMAA-U BAINAHUM TARAHUM RUKKA-AN SUJJADA.

Maswali / maoni yanakaribishwa.

JazakAllah,

Muhammad KHATRI

Write It Fully, Don't Abbreviate

It is recommended = Mustahabb = for the person who writes
out Hadith, that he writes out = ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﻭَﺳَﻠَّﻢَ = Sall’Allahu
Alayhi wa Sallam = when there is the mentioning of the
Messenger of Allah. He must write it out fully, not merely
using abbreviations, {like S.A.W, PBUH, s.a.w.s} and neither
sufficing on one of the two, {meaning you have to say the
Salat & Salam}. {Sharh Sahih Muslim, Volume 1, pg. 39}

What is Preferred to say after writing the names of Allah
Ta’Ala or the Prophet ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﻭَﺳَﻠَّﻢَ or companions or
scholars

Allah ﻋﺰ ﻭ ﺟﻞ
It is preferred/recommended for a person who writes out a
Hadith, that at the time he comes across the mentioning of the Name of Allah to add after it:
A’zza wa Jal
Ta’ala
Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala
Tabarak Wa Ta’Ala
Jalla Dhikruh or
Tabarak Asmuh or other similar statements.

The Prophet Muhammad ﺻ
It is also recommended to add after mentioning the name of the Prophet Muhammad the following: ﺻ
This should be written out as it is, without using any
abbreviation and using both the “Salah” and “Taslim” on the
Prophet ﺻَﻠَّﻰ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﻭَ ﺳَﻠَّﻢَ not just the Salah or Taslim.
The Companions ﺭ

If a Companion is mentioned then it should be used after him
Radi’ Allahu Anhu and if he was a companion that
his father is a companion as well then it should be written ﺭَﺿِﻲَ
Radi’ Allahu Anhuma.

The Scholars ﺭﺣﻤﻬﻢ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ
The same respect should be used in regard to the scholars by writing and asking Allah to be pleased with them and shower them with his Mercy.

All these additions should be written even if they were not
mentioned in the original text the writer quotes or writes from because this is not a narration but a Dua’ = supplication… They should not be bored from repeating doing so, because whoever does not pay attention to it will surely miss a great
reward and a great blessing.”
~ Muqaddimah Sharh Sahih Muslim, Imam an-Nawawi (Rahmatullahi Ta'ala Alayh)

Collection of Ahadith on Separation and Serving Ties

» It is not halaal upon a person to leave (i.e. stay away from) his brother for more than three days, to the extent that when both of them meet, one turns his face to one side whilst the other turns away in the other direction; and the best amongst both of them is the one who precedes in conveying Salaam. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 4, Page 120, Hadith 6077]

» It is not halaal upon a true believer, that he should desert (i.e. leave) another Momin for more than three days. If three days have passed, he should meet with him and convey Salaam. If the second person replied to the Salaam, then both are equal in the reward and if he did not reply, then it is he who is charged with its sin, and the person (who conveyed salaam) is released from the sin of leaving him. [Sunan Abi Dawud, Vol. 4, Page 324, Hadith 4912]

» It is not the way of a Muslim to leave another Muslim for more than three days. When you meet him, convey Salaam to him thrice, and if he does not say Salaam, then he is charged with the sin of this as well. [Sunan Abi Dawud, Vol. 4, Page 324, Hadith 4913]

» It is not halaal upon a Muslim, to desert his brother for more than three days. So whosoever did this and died, he has gone into hell. [Sunan Abi Dawud, Vol. 4, Page 324, Hadith 4914]

» One who leaves his brother for an entire year, is equivalent to murdering him. [Sunan Abi Dawud, Vol. 4, Page 324, Hadith 4915]

» Whoever prefers that a palace be built for him in Paradise, should forgive the person who is unjust with him, and give to the one who deprives him and mend relations with the one who tries to break ties with him. [Al-Mustadrak, Vol. 3, Page 12, Hadith 3215]

» On the 15th night of Sha'ban, Allah reveals His specific attribute to the whole of creation and forgives everyone except the unbeliever and the one who has malice (in his heart for another Muslim). [Sahih Ibn Hibban, Vol. 7, Page 470, Hadith 5636]

» Our Beloved Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, "In Laylat al-Qadr, Jibrail (Alayhis Salam), accompanied by a large number of angels, descends onto the earth with a green flag he hoists on the top of the Ka'bah. Jibrail (Alayhis Salam) has 100 arms, two of which he opens only at this night. His arms spread across the east and the west. Then Jibrail (Alayhis Salam) commands the angels to say Salam and shake hands with every Muslim who is offering Salah or making the Dhikr of Allah and to say Aameen to their supplications. This process continues till dawn (Subh-e-Sadiq).

In the morning, Jibrail commands all the angels to return. The angels say ‘O Jibrail what about the needs of the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad? Jibrail replies, ‘Allah has seen them with mercy and has forgiven all of them except four types of people.’

The honourable companions asked, ‘Ya RasoolAllah (SallAllahu Alayka wa Sallam)! Who are those four types of people?’ He replied,

(1) Alcoholics
(2) Disobedient to parents
(3) Those who break ties with relatives
(4) Those who bear malice and grudge against each other and break ties. [Shu’ab al-Iman, Vol. 3, Page 336, Hadith 3695]

ANGELS FOR PROTECTION :

On one instance, Hazrat Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (Radi Allahu anhum) had gone outside for a long time. Bibi Faatima Zahra Radi Allahu Anha became very worried.

She was still thinking about where the children might have gone, when the Beloved Rasool صلى الله عليه و سلم  arrived at her home. Bibi Faatima Zahra immediately said, “Ya Rasoolallah صلى الله عليه و سلم Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain cannot be found. They have gone out and we do not know their whereabouts.” Just then, Hazrat Jibraeel Alaihi salaam descended and said, “Ya Rasoolallah صلى الله عليه و سلم there is nothing to worry about. Both the children are at a certain place and Almighty Allah has appointed Angels to protect them.” On hearing this, the beloved Rasool went to the spot that Hazrat Jibraeel had pointed out.

The Beloved Rasool saw that both Hazrat Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (radi Allahu Anhum) were resting and an Angel had one of his wings under them and was shading them with his other wing. The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم  kissed both of them and carried them home to Bibi Faatima Radi Allahu Anha.

Collection of Ahadith on Anger

Whoever protects his tongue, Allah will conceal him (his sins); for the one who controls his anger, Allah will stop punishment from [seizing] him on the Day of Judgment; and the one who makes a plea, Allah will accept his plea. [Shu'ab al-Iman, Vol. 6, Page 315, Hadith 8311]

A person said "(Please) give me some advice" Rasoolullah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said "Do not be angry". He continued to ask the same thing and the reply was the same "Do not be angry." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 4, Page 131, Hadith 6116]

Strong is not that person who is a wrestler (athletic person), who throws down people, but strong is he, who restrains himself when angry. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 4, Page 130, Hadith 6114]

No person has drunk a better mouthful, than the person who has swallowed his anger for the Allah's sake. [Musnad Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Vol. 2, Page 482, Hadith 6122]

Anger damages Iman, just as (the bitterness of) aloe ruins honey. [Shu'ab al-Iman, Vol. 6, Page 311, Hadith 8294]

Hadrat Moosa (Ala Nabiyyina wa Alayhis Salat wa as-Salam) asked "O Allah! Who is that servant that is dearer to you?" Almighty Allah said "He, who forgives even though he has the power (i.e. he forgives, even though he has the power to retaliate)". [Shu'ab al-Iman, Vol. 6, Page 319, Hadith 8327]

Anger is from shaytaan and shaytaan is created from fire; and fire is extinguished only by water, so when one becomes angry, he should perform wudu (ablution). [Sunan Abi Dawud, Vol. 2, Page 315, Hadith 4784]

If a person becomes angry and he is standing, he should sit down, and if his anger fades away, then all is well, otherwise he should lie down. [Musnad Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Vol. 8, Page 80-81, Hadith 21406]

If a person holds back his anger, Allah will prevent torment (from being inflicted on) him on the Day of Judgement. [Shu'ab al-Iman, Vol. 6, Page 315, Hadith 8311]

There is a door in Hell; only those will enter through it whose anger subsides only after committing an act of sin. [Al-Firdaus bima Saur al-Khattab, Vol. 1, Page 205, Hadith 784]

CHARACTER AND GENEROSITY:

Imam Hussain Radi Allahu Anhu was very handsome. From his chest up to his blessed feet, he was the picture of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم , whereas his elder brother Imam Hassan Radi Allahu Anhu was the image of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم from his head up to his chest.

Imam Hussain Radi Allahu Anhu was very kind, gentle, merciful and Allah fearing personality. He always cared for the poor and oppressed and gave comfort to those in pain. There were times, when there was only enough food in his home to feed one person, but if a beggar came to his home, he would feed this to the beggar and would remain hungry himself. SubhanAllahl!

Once, Hazrat Imam Hussain Radi Allahu Anhu had joined some of his visitors to partake in a meal with them. One of his servants brought out a bowl of soup. As he walked into the room, he tripped and dropped the bowl. The bowl fell to the ground and broke and the soup spilled onto the blessed face of Hazrat Imam Hussain. The servant was very afraid that he had insulted the grandson of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم by dropping the bowl. Hazrat Imam Hussain looked towards him and he trembled in fear and asked Imam Hussain not to be angry. Imam Hussain replied by saying, “I have consumed my anger.” The servant then spoke about forgiveness and Imam Hussain said, “I have forgiven you.” The servant then said, “Allah loves those who are kind” and Hazrat Imam Hussain said, “I have freed you for the pleasure of Allah.”
Subhan Allah!

NOTES:

1. To perform the ziyarah (visit) of the blessed shrine of the Messenger of Allah is near to Wajib (being necessary). [Fatawa-e-Razawiyyah, Bahar-e-Shari’at]

2. To perform Hajj and not to visit the blessed shrine of the Beloved Prophet is a sign of wretchedness.

Don't Eat & Drink While Standing

“Once the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saw a person drinking whilst standing, the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) asked him to vomit it back out”, the person ask ‘Why shall I vomit it out!’ the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said ‘Surely who drank with you is worse than a cat, that is the devil’.”

~Recorded in Madarijun Nabuwat

We see Muslims’ walking in the town centres today eating and drinking whilst standing. Even at gatherings some eat and drink whilst standing and are ignorant of the Sunnah way. Let us take the sayings of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) seriously and start practising them wherever we are.

Ya RasoolAllah Aakar Dekhlo

Ya RasoolAllah Aakar Dekhlo
Ya Madine me bulakar kar dekhlo

saikdo ke dil munawar kar diye
is taraf bhi aankh utha kar dekhlo

raanj-o-gham dard-o-alam ki mere gird
bhid hai sarkar aakar dekhlo

ye kabhi inkaar karte hi nahi
be nawao aazma kar dekhlo

Chaahe Jo Maango Ataa Farmayenge,
Na Murado Haath Uttha Kar Dekhlo...

sahr-e-jannat dekhna chaho agar
roza-e-anwar pe aakar dekhlo

do jahan ki sarfarazi ho naseeb
unke aage sar jhuka kar dekhlo

is JAMIL-E-QADRI ko bhi huzoor
apne dar ka sag banakar dekhlo

Karam Jo Aapka Ay Sayyad E Abrar Ho Jaaye

Karam Jo Aapka Ay Sayyad E Abrar Ho Jaye
To Har Badkaar Banda Damme Nekokaar Ho Jaye

Jo Mo'min Dekhe Tumko Mahram E Asraar Ho Jaye
Jo Kafir Dekhle Tumko Wo Deendaar Ho Jaye

Jo Sar Rakhde Tumhare Qadam Pe Sardaar Ho Jaye
Jo Tumse Sar Koi Fere Zaleelo Khaar Ho Jaye

Talatum Kaise Bhi Kuch Ho Magar Ay Na Khuda E Man
Ishara Aap Farmaye To Beda Paar Ho Jaye

Inayat Se Mere Sar Par Agar Wo Kafshe Paa Rakh De
Ye Banda Taajdaaro Ka Bhi To Sardaar Ho Jaye

Tumhare Faiz Se Lathi Misaale Sham'a Roushan Ho
Jo Tum Lakdi Ko Chaho Tez Talwaar Ho Jaye

Gunah Kitne Hi Aur Kaise Hi Ho Par Rehmate Aalam
Shafa'at Aap Farmaye To Beda Paar Ho Jaye

Bharam Reh Jaye Mehshar Me Na Palla Halka Ho Apna
Ilahi Mere Palle Par Mere Ghum Khwar Ho Jaye

Tumhare Hukm Ka Bandha Hua Suraj Phire Ulta
Jo Tum Chaho Ke Shab Din Ho Abhi Sarkaar Ho Jaye

Kawafi Aur Mazami Achhe Achhe Hai Abhi Baaki
Magar Bas Bhi Karo Noori Na Parhna Baar Ho Jaye

Sayyiduna Uthman e Ghani - Part 6

The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) then said, ‘O Uthman! If you wish, I’ll help you against these people; or if you like you may come to me and break your fast in my company.’ I respectfully replied, ‘Ya RasoolAllah (SallAllahu Alayka wa Sallam); breaking my fast in your graceful court is dearer to me.’ Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam stated that he returned that day and Sayyiduna Uthman was martyred on that same day by the rebels. [Kitab al-Manamat, Vol. 3, Page 74, Hadith 109]

★ Imam Jalal al-Din Suyuti (Alayhir Rahmah) has narrated that Shaykh Ibn Batish (Alayhir Rahmah) deduced that this event (of the sighting of the Noble Prophet SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) was not a dream, rather it took place whilst awake. [Al-Hawi lil Fatawi, Vol. 1, Page 151]

★ Sayyiduna 'Adi bin Hatim has stated that on the day when Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) was martyred, I heard with my ears that someone was saying aloud, "Give Uthman Al-Ghani the glad tidings of comfort and fragrance; tell him the delightful news about meeting with Rab (Azza wa Jal). Who is not displeased; also give him the glad tidings of forgiveness and the pleasure of his Rab (Azza wa Jal)."

Shaykh 'Adi bin Hatim has further stated that he looked around, but he did not see anyone. [Ibn Asakir, Vol. 37, Page 355; Shawahid al-Nubuwwah, Page 209]

★ It has been reported that some of the close companions of Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) took his body to Jannat-ul-Baqi' at night taking advantage of the darkness. They were digging the grave when suddenly a large number of riders entered Jannat-ul-Baqi'. The devotees got frightened. The riders said loudly, ‘Do not fear; we are here to take part in his burial.’ Hearing this, people’s fear abated and Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) was buried in peace. After returning from the graveyard the Sahaba al-Kiram (Alayhim ar-Ridwan) swore to the people that the riders were in fact angels. [Shawahid al-Nabuwwah, Page 209]

Sayyiduna Uthman e Ghani - Part 5

★ Sayyiduna Hasan al-Basri (Radi Allahu Anhu) has mentioned explaining the extreme modesty of Ameer al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu), "If he had been in some room with the door properly shut, even then he would not put off his clothes for taking the bath nor would he straighten his back out of modesty." [Hilyat al-Awliya, Vol. 1, Page 94, Hadith 159]

★ Ameer al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) would always observe Nafl (supererogatory) Fasts. Having taken rest during the initial part of the night, he would stand vigil (for worship) for the rest of the night. [Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Vol. 2, Page 173]

★ Whenever Ameer al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) would get up for offering the Salah of Tahajjud at night, he would himself arrange water for performing the Wudu. When it was asked, ‘Why do you bother yourself; let your servant do it for you’, He replied, "No, the night is theirs; it is for their rest." [Ibn Asakir, Vol. 39, Page 236]

★ Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (Radi Allahu Anhuma) has reported that the beloved Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) prophesized a heretical event and informed Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) that he will be wickedly martyred in that. [Tirmidhi, Vol. 5, Page 395, Hadith 3728]

★ Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam (Radi Allahu Anhu) has stated: When the rebels had laid siege to the sanctified house of Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) even a single drop of water was not allowed to supply his blessed home. Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani would feel restless due to severe thirst. He was observing fast during the day and I went to see him. He looked at me and said, ‘O! Abdullah bin Salam, I beheld the Noble Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) through this skylight. The Most Merciful Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said in a very sympathetic manner, ‘O Uthman! These people have made you restless by thirst blocking the water?’ I respectfully replied, ‘Yes.’ So, the Noble Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) immediately lowered a bucket towards me that was filled with water. I quenched my thirst. I can still feel the soothing effect of that water between both of my breasts and both of my shoulders.

Sayyiduna Uthman e Ghani - Part 4

★ This was the specialty of Sayyiduna Uthman (Radi Allahu Anhu) as whosoever does not attend the battle does not get his share of the booty. Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhuma) has said, "The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) allocated for him his share and did not do so for anyone else who was absent." [Sunan Abi Dawud, Vol. 2, Page 18]

★ Sayyiduna Shurhabil bin Muslim (Radi Allahu Anhu) has reported, "Ameer al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) would feed the people with lavish food, and he himself would go home and remain contented with vinegar and olive only." [Az-Zuhd lil Imam Ahmad, Page 155, Hadith 684]

★ He was known for his modesty, generosity and braveness. The beloved Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, "Should I not show modesty to one whom even the Angels show modesty." [Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2402]

★ Ameer al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) has said, ‘The hand by which I committed Bay’ah (spiritual bond) in the blessed hands of the Most Noble Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam), I have never touched my genital organ with that (i.e. right hand) thereafter.’ [Az-Zuhd lil Imam Ahmad, Page 155, Hadith 685]

★ Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) has said, "I swear by Allah! I never committed fornication during the pre-Islamic era of ignorance nor have I committed it after embracing Islam." [Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 1, Page 99]

Hadith About Food

The Prophet of mankind, the Peace of our heart and mind, the most Generous and Kind (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) has stated,

"The one who picks up the bits of food that have fallen on the dining-mat and eats them, will live a life of affluence and his offspring and the offspring of his offspring will be protected from unwisdom (ignorance)."
[Kanz al-Ummal, Vol. 15, Page 111, Hadith 40815]

Another narration mentioned by Imam Jalal al Din Suyuti in his Jaami al Saghir says:
"Treat bread with respect as it is from amongst the blessings of the heavens and earth. Whoever eats a fallen piece of bread from the dining-mat will be forgiven."
[#Suyuti, Jamai' as-Saghir, Page 88, #Hadith 1426]

The Noble Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: You should not eat while resting against a support. [Majma' al-Zawa'id, #Hadith 7918]

Indeed blessing descends at the center of the plate, therefore, eat from the sides and not from the middle. [Jaami' #Tirmidhi, #Hadith 1812]

When the dining-mat is laid, each one of you should eat from your own side. [#Bayhaqi, Shu'ab al-Iman, Volume 5, Page 83, #Hadith 5864]

Adopt moderation in eating and drinking as this is a cure for numerous diseases. [Kashf al-Khifa, Volume 1, Page 221, #Hadith 760]

The dearest to Allah Almighty amongst you is the one who eats less and has a lean body. [#Suyuti, Jaami' al-Saghir, Page 20, #Hadith 221]

Whoever wipes the plate and licks his fingers clean, Allah will fill his stomach in the world and the Hereafter. [#Tabarani, #Hadith 653]

Glad Tidings Of Caliphate

It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Anas bin Malik (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu), he says that the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) went to a orchard. A person came and knocked on the door. The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: O Anas! Get up and open the door. Give him the glad tidings of Jannah and the caliphate after me. I asked: O Prophet of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam)! Should I tell him all this? He said: Yes, tell him. When I came outside, I saw that it was Hadrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu). I told him: There are glad tidings of Jannah for you and glad tidings of caliphate after the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam).

Then another person came and knocked at the door. The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: O Anas! Get up and open the door for him. Give him glad tidings of Jannah and of the caliphate after Abu Bakr. I asked: O Prophet of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam)! Should I tell him this? He said: Yes, tell him. When I came out I saw that it was Hadrat ‘Umar (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu). I told him: There are glad tidings of Jannah for you and of the caliphate after Hadrat Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu).

Then yet another person knocked. The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: Anas, get up and open the door for him. Give him glad tidings of Jannah and of the caliphate after Abu Bakr and ‘Umar. Also give him the glad tidings of martyrdom. When I came out, I saw it was Hadrat ‘Uthman (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu). I told him so. Then Hadrat ‘Uthman (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) came to the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) and said: O Prophet of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam)! By Allah, I have never sung and have never done any indecent thing. From the time I gave my pledge to you, I have never touched my private parts with that hand. The Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: O ‘Uthman, it is for this reason you have received such high stations.

[Kanz al-Ummal, Hadith 36267]

Friday, The Chief Of All Days!

The Noble Prophet (May peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) has said,

"Friday is chief of all days; it is most magnificent [among all days] in the court of Allah. It is superior to even Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr in the court of Allah. It has five particular features:

1. Allah created Sayyiduna Adam on this day.

2. Sayyiduna Adam descended upon the earth on this day.

3. Sayyiduna Adam passed away on the same day.

4. On Friday, there is one such moment in which if someone prays for anything, he will be granted whatever he asked for, provided he does not ask for anything Haram.

5. The Judgement Day will take place on Friday.

There is no such distinguished angel, the sky, the earth, wind, mountain and river that does not fear Friday."

Sayyiduna Uthman e Ghani - Part 3

★ When the migrants came to the blessed city of Madina Munawwarah, they did not like the taste of the water. A man from the tribe of Bani Ghaffar possessed a well, named Ruma, full of sweet water. He used to sell this water to the people. The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) asked him if he would sell his well for a spring in paradise. The man replied, "O Prophet of Allah! This is my only income." Hearing this, Syyiduna Uthman (Radi Allahu Anhu) came and bought the well for thirty-one thousand. He then came to the Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) and asked, "Will I be able to get the spring of Paradise like you said, if i would buy the well from him?" The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, "Yes." Thus, Sayyiduna Uthman (Radi Allahu Anhu) stated, "I have bought the well of Ruma and given it to the Muslims." [Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, Vol. 2, Page 41-42, Hadith 1226; Tarikh Dimashq al-Kabir, Vol. 41, Page 49; Kanz al-Ummal, , Vol. 13, Page 35-36, Hadith 36183]

★ When the Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) was preparing for the battle of Tabuk, the Muslims were in needy of some financial support. At this moment the Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) sought the help of Sayyiduna Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu. Hadrat Uthman (Radi Allahu Anhu) gave 10,000 Dinars, thereafter the Prophet said, "O Uthman! May Allah forgive your outer and inner mistakes and forgive all that which you commit till the Day of Judgement. Uthman can do whatever he wills." [Kanz al-Ummal, Vol. 13, Page 38, Hadith 36189]

★ Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhuma) has stated that Uthman bin Affan’s (Radi Allahu Anhu) absence from the battle of Badr was because the daughter of the Prophet of Allah (Ruqayyah), who was his wife, fell ill. Allah’s Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said to him, "You will receive the same reward and share (of the booty) as anyone of those who participated in the battle of Badr (if you stay with her)." [Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1, Page 523; Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Vol. 2, Page 101; Jaami' Tirmidhi, Vol. 5, Page 395, Hadith 3726]

Sayyiduna Uthman e Ghani - Part 2

Sayyidina Uthman bin Affan‏ (Kiswahili)

Natumai hamjambo.

AYA:  MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH, WALLADHINA MA-AHU ASHIDDAA-U ALAL KUFFAARI, RUHAMAA-U BAINAHUM.
Maswali / maoni yanakaribishwa.
JazakAllah,
Muhammad KHATRI

Marvels and Excellence of Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani [Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu]‏

On the 18th of Zul Hijjah, 35th year of the Hijrah, the companion of our beloved Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam), Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) was ruthlessly martyred. He was the third Khalifah (caliph) amongst those known as the Khulafah al-Rashideen. His patronymic (Kunyah) is Abu Amr. He is also known as Zun-Nurayn (i.e. Possessor of two Lights), because the Noble Prophet gave two of his honorable daughters' hands in marriage one after the other to the Honorable Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu).

He embraced Islam at the very advent . He is also known as "Sahib al-Hijratayn" (the one who migrated twice) because firstly he migrated to Habshah (Ethiopia) and then to Madinatul Munawwarah.

Ameer al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) was an ardent follower of the Beloved Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam). He was, in fact, the embodiment of love of the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam). Absolute submission to the Sunnah manifests in his words and deeds.

One day Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) sat by the entrance of the Masjid and asked for the meat of the limb of goat and consumed it. He, then, offered Salah without redoing the Wudu and explained that the Noble Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) also consumed the same sitting on the same place, and did in the same way. [Musnad Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal, Vol. 1, Page 137, Hadith 441]
Once Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) smiled whilst performing Wudu. The people asked the reason, to which he replied, "Once I saw that the Holy Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) smiled having performed Wudu at this very place." [Musnad Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal, Vol. 1, Page 130, Hadith 415]
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (Radi Allahu Anhu) narrates, "Uthman bought Jannah twice from the Prophet. Firstly, on day of ‘The Well of Ruma’ and secondly, when the Muslims were in a very poor state." [Al-Mustadrak li al-Hakim, Vol. 3, Page 107; Tarikh Dimashq al-Kabir, Vol. 41, Page 49; Al-Kamil li Ibn Adi, Vol. 2, Page 464]

When the migrants came to the blessed city of Madina Munawwarah, they did not like the taste of the water.

At this moment the Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) sought the help of Sayyiduna Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu. May Allah forgive your outer and inner mistakes and forgive all that which you commit till the Day of Judgement. Uthman can do whatever he wills." [Kanz al-Ummal, Vol. 13, Page 38, Hadith 36189]

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhuma) has stated that Uthman bin Affan’s (Radi Allahu Anhu) absence from the battle of Badr was because the daughter of the Prophet of Allah (Ruqayyah), who was his wife, fell ill.

Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radi Allahu Anhuma) has said, "The Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) allocated for him his share and did not do so for anyone else who was absent." [Sunan Abi Dawud, Vol. 2, Page 18]

Sayyiduna Shurhabil bin Muslim (Radi Allahu Anhu)  has reported, "Ameer al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) would feed the people with lavish food, and he himself would go home and remain contented with vinegar and olive only." [Az-Zuhd lil Imam Ahmad, Page 155, Hadith 684]
He was known for his modesty, generosity and braveness. The beloved Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, "Should I not show modesty to one whom even the Angels show modesty." [Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2402]
Ameer al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) has said, ‘The hand by which I committed Bay’ah (spiritual bond) in the blessed hands of the Most Noble Prophet (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam), I have never touched my genital organ with that (i.e. right hand) thereafter.’ [Az-Zuhd lil Imam Ahmad, Page 155, Hadith 685]

Imam Jalal al-Din Suyuti (Alayhir Rahmah) has narrated that Shaykh Ibn Batish (Alayhir Rahmah) deduced that this event (of the sighting of the Noble Prophet SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) was not a dream, rather it took place whilst awake. [Al-Hawi lil Fatawi, Vol. 1, Page 151]

Sayyiduna 'Adi bin Hatim has stated that on the day when Sayyiduna Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) was martyred, I heard with my ears that someone was saying aloud, "Give Uthman Al-Ghani the glad tidings of comfort and fragrance; tell him the delightful news about meeting with Rab (Azza wa Jal).

It has been reported that some of the close companions of Uthman Al-Ghani (Radi Allahu Anhu) took his body to Jannat-ul-Baqi' at night taking advantage of the darkness.

Benediction be upon the ascetic of Mosque of Ahmad
Countless salutations be upon the wealth of army of poverty
Countless salutations be upon the bride groom of two lights of chastity
who was indeed the excellent chain of the scattered pearls of the Holy Qur'an
