Sha'baan Al-Muazzam - The Eighth Islamic Month

Shabaan is the month of special blessings. In this month Allah ta’ala has favoured the Ummah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and has given them means to achieve blessings, salvation and forgiveness. In this month there comes a special night called ‘Lailatul Bara’at’.  There are many Ahadith of the Holy Prophet ﷺ in which he gave details of virtues and blessings of this month. 

Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (RadiAllahu Ta'ala Anhu)  has reported the Holy Prophet ﷺ as saying:

“Rajab is the month of Allah Ta’ala, Shaban is my month and Ramadan is the month of my Ummah. In Shabaan sins are forgiven by Allah ta’ala and in Ramadan my people are completely purified from sins.”

The Holy Prophet ﷺ has said:

“Shabaan has superiority over other months as I have superiority over all the Prophets.”

The Holy Prophet ﷺ also said:

“Between Rajab and Ramadan there is the blessed month of Shabaan. People are not aware of it (its virtues). The actions of men are presented to Allah ta’ala in this month. Therefore, I like to fast when my actions are presented to Allah ta’ala.”

In another Hadith the Holy Prophet ﷺ has said:

“When the blessed month of Shabaan reaches you, it cleanses your spirit to receive blessed month of Ramadan. Purify your intentions, surely, the greatness of Shabaan is like my greatness over all Prophets. Be mindful” Shabaan is my month and anyone who keeps fast in it, my intercession will be wajib for him.”

ACTIONS & PRAYERS FOR  SHABAAN

1st Shabaan

After Isha read 12 rakat nawafil with 6 salaams after every rakat after surah fateha recite surah Ikhlas 15 times after salaam read Darood Shareef 70 times and repent for your sins.

1^st Jumu’a

First Jumu’a of Shabaan after Maghrib (Thursday night ) read 2 nawafil after surah fateha read ayat ul qursi once, surah Ikhlas 10 times, surah Falaq once, Surah Naas once great for increase of Imaan inshAllah.

First Jumu’a of shabaan after Isha (thursday night) read 8 rakat with one salaam, after every rakat after surah fateha read surah ikhlas 11 times and send the sawaab to Khatoone Jannat, Bibi Fatima (RadiAllahu Ta'ala Anha)

First Jumu’a after Isha (Thursday night) read four rakat nawafil with one salaam after surah fateha recite surah ikhlas 3 times will get reward of an umra insha-Allah.
